The NTRON Gasenz ambient oxygen monitor can be used to measure the level of oxygen in a work area that's dangerously low. It can detect the presence of dangerous gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen and is ideal for use in the gas generation and fire prevention industries.

The monitor is made of durable and low-maintenance electrochromic or zirconia sensor technology. It can measure up to 25% of O2 and has a built-in alarm. Its easy to install and has a four-button multi-function keyboard.

Zirconia sensor.

The Ntron Gasenz oxygen sensor is made of solid electrolyte materials that are non-depleting. It features a small capillary that controls the flow of oxygen into the device. When the temperature reaches over 400 degrees Celsius, the oxygen level is lowered, which then causes the current to flow through the electrolyte. The current running through the electrodes determines the oxygen level. The longevity of the sensor, which is made of zirconia, is assured since it doesn't lose its calibration. It also has low cross sensitivity and can last for several years.

Electrochemical sensors are composed of a membrane, anode, cathode, measurement circuit, and electrolyte. The membrane is made of PTFE and is connected to an electrode using a perforated metal framework. Between the two components is a space filled with either acid or aqueous alkali. In a typical operation, the anode, as well as the cathode, are immersed in the liquid electrolyte. As oxygen gets into the membrane, it causes a reaction that generates an electric current. The current is proportional to how much oxygen is present in the sample.

The output of the electrochemical sensor is dependent on the oxygen level. This means that only one calibration is necessary.

Low maintenance and cost of ownership. The sensor features a highly stable structure, which necessitates a yearly calibration. The economical construction of the zirconia oxygen sensor reduces the need for sample gas to only around 100 ml/min, which provides additional cost savings.

Proven sensor technology.

The SenzTx can be equipped with either an electrochemical or a zirconia sensor, which provides a choice of accuracy and reliability. Both of these technologies allow the user to measure oxygen levels from 1 ppm to 96%.

Fast response time. The rapid response of the zirconia oxygen sensor to the changes in the concentration of oxygen allows it to provide a T90 of less than ten seconds.
